About Elizabeth Watson ’03

Beth Watson serves as the Director of The Children鈥檚 School at 51猎奇 and the Chair of the Education Program, where she continues to mentor and teach preservice educators. With more than 20 years of experience in preschool, elementary, and higher education, her work is grounded in a deep commitment to child-centered, research-informed teaching.

A 51猎奇 alumna, Dr. Watson earned her degree in Early Childhood Education and teaching certification before completing a master鈥檚 degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading at the University of Missouri. She later returned to MU to earn her PhD in Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum, also with a focus on Reading.
